3rd Person Reflection on my Research Regarding Casual or Non-Gamers’ Motivations in Playing to Learn in a MMORPG

I had the wonderful opportunity to interact with a like-minded person in Kalynn Aguirre through LinkedIn since we shared common interests in second language learning, particularly via the use of MMORPG (massive multiplayer online role-playing game) environments.  Below is a blog entry Kalynn composed after reading my soon-to-be-published work on investigating casual or non-gamers inherent motivations in playing a MMORPG to learn a target language.

Her blog was thoughtfully written and brought up quite a few points of inquiry worthy of further research.  I really appreciate her feedback and thoughts she put into reading my work.  The other blog entries she has on the site were also intellectually stimulating as she contemplates on discussions surrounding issues of our increasingly tech-centered and learner-centered  culture and social milieu.  Enjoy the read!
